Looking for an app to take to a party that everyone will love? These sticky wings will do the trick. A little messy but so, so good. This past summer was full of picnics at the beach and the park for us and this dish was great for those occasions. We took these to the Grease sing-a-long at the Hollywood Bowl. So much fun for the whole family! These are a great combination of sweet, salty and spicy. When you buy the wings, they will not look like they do when you order them from a restaurant. You can cut them up so you have the drumette and wingette, then disregard the tip pieces.
Ingredients:
3 garlic cloves
3/4 teaspoons sea salt
3 lbs chicken wings
3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
Toasted sesame seeds
2 scallions chopped
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Using a mortar and pestle, mash the garlic together with the sea salt and make a paste. In a large bowl, mix together garlic paste, hoisin sauce, honey, sriracha, soy sauce and sesame oil. Then toss the wings with the sauce, ensuring that each wing is thoroughly coated. Place in a single layer on a lightly oiled baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 35 minutes, turning once. Remove from oven, sprinkle with sesame seeds and scallions and serve.
