This is a super easy, delicious flank steak. Its a great weeknight meal. Just add a salad or your favorite vegetable to it and dinner is served. Can even the main course for a super casual get together. If you can’t find flank steak, I have found that flat iron steak works as well.
Serves 6-8 people
Ingredients
2-2 1/2 lb flank steak
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup olive oil
juice of one orange
1/4 cup brown sugar
4 scallions – crushed and cut into thirds
6 garlic cloves crushed
1/4 teaspoon aleppo pepper (or crushed red pepper if you don’t have any)
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
Preparation
Mix all ingredients into a large bowl or large plastic bag. Pat the flank steak dry with a paper towel. Using meat tenderizer, tenderize the steak. I like to go over both sides a couple times. Add steak to the marinade, seal or cover and put in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours up to 24 hours. Remove the steak from the refrigerator and let stand at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Grill the steak, about 10 minutes per side. Take off the grill and let rest for 20 minutes, lightly tented with foil. Slice across the grain and serve.
